2008 Short Fiction Competition

When: from February 1st to February 29th at 12:00am PST

Rules: only original unpublished short stories between 500-5000 words. One story per author is eligible. No excerpts, poems, essays or fan-fiction.

Winner will be selected by a poll. The poll will be put up on March 1st and will end on March 14th at 12:00am PST. The short story with the most votes by the end of the poll will receive the prize. There are no runner-up prizes. Authors are allowed to vote for themselves, but to prevent a tie* it would be wise to invite your friends and family to read and vote for your story. The editor will not vote in the competition.

Send submissions to: nefariousfiction AT gmail.com with “Competition Entry” in the subject line. For your own benefit make sure the story is formatted for web-publishing and is proofread for typos. Entries will not be edited and will be posted to Nefarious Muse as is. Paste your story into the body of the email if possible, if not then .DOC and .TXT attachments will be accepted, but no promises on retaining any special formatting of the attachment. No .PDFs, no exceptions.

*In the event of a tie at the end of voting, the prize will be split between the winners.
